What Is A Poker Run?

Join In The Fun!

A Poker Run is a game of chance and only the boat with the best poker hand wins. It’s all in the cards. Speed has no bearing on the winner and it is strictly not a race.

Each participating boat navigates a carefully charted course, stopping at five checkpoints along the route to pick up a sealed envelope containing a single playing card. At a special poker run evening ceremony for all the family, the envelopes are opened and the crew holding the best poker hand is declared the winner!

Signing up for a poker run means being part of a well-organised, activity-oriented, fun-filled and safe event for the entire family and is a great opportunity to be meet other boaters.

Participants travel at their own speed. There is no benefit to being “first” to any of the card stops. These events are monitored by several experienced marshal  boats and safety crew.

Every boat crew member entering will take part in a full safety briefing and will also be provided with details of the route, each boat skipper will then be required to sign a declaration form to agree that they fully understand the briefing and will abide by the rules and details therein. A copy of the briefing and safety details will be available before the day on request.

A poker run is a controlled exciting day which will be run by professionals to make the day safe and also fun for all the family.
